BLIND SPOT 109: PUNCH DRUNK LOVE

Hi friends! Things have been so crazy I forgot to post my blind spot for February. Manda and I did do our episode on Punch Drunk Love, which we both liked. It’s a rare instance of me liking the style more than the story but it’s got such a unique look about it that it makes sense. Almost every frame is backlit making it an unusual film visually. It’s also not a long film so it makes me more tolerant of its experimental story.

  1. I have never seen this, but I remember it was on Doug Walker’s Top 10 Movies He Likes That Everyone Else Hates years ago. It would be nice to see an Adam Sandler movie that I actually like, but given I disliked the only two that I have seen on his list (Prince Caspian and Atlantis: The Lost Empire), I’m not in a rush to check it out.

    1. It’s not perfect but I bet you’d appreciate it at least on a visual level as it makes very interesting choices and it’s not a long watch so that’s nice
