  1. Nice lists, i think i do prefer yours the addition i would have include, The Girl WHo Leapt Through TIme and The Castle of Cagliostro but not the biggest fan of Akira

    1. After seeing Summer Wars and Boy and the Beast I’m dying to see The Girl who Lept Through Time! Castle of Cagliostro I’m intrigued by because it’s so different looking than that what I normally think of as Miyazaki

  2. Both great lists, though yours has more of my favorites. The two Darren mentioned are great, and Wolf Children too. Cowboy Bebop and Patema Inverted are really cool sci-fi anime you might like as well.

    1. I’ve been debating about Cowboy Bepop because heard it’s a hard R film? What do you think?

      1. To me, it was rated R for two scenes at most, and I thought Akira was worse in that regard. If you like Akira, Cowboy Bebop should be no problem.

      2. Oh cool! I will definitely have to check it out. Have you seen Summer Wars? I thought it was really cool.

      3. That I have and quite enjoyed it. I really liked the extended family dynamic mixed with all the virtual action, though I probably prefer the director’s other two films more. By the way, how did you see The Boy and the Beast? I’ve been wanting to for a while, but Netflix doesn’t have it yet.
